Elexxion is a pioneer and technological leader in the field of combination lasers. It’s not surprising, then, that developers at elexxion recently achieved an innovative breakthrough that resulted in a compact, mobile dental laser for soft and hard dental tissue: the elexxion delos.

Research and development help drive the success of elexxion and the results can be seen throughout the product series. Our development department has a cutting-edge 3D design system with which our developers, working in partnership with international universities, turn pioneering technologies into reality. Direct links to our suppliers’ CNC machines mean that we can construct complex, fully functioning mechanical assemblies within a matter of days.

To make sure the company’s success is continued and sustained, we have applied for more than 20 property rights since 2002 (petty patents, national and international patents, trademark rights), several of which have already been successfully registered.

Our main concern in this respect is to safeguard our know-how in the field of ‘universal dental lasers’, the modular combination of two laser sources (one for soft tissue applications and the other for hard tissue applications). The basic system with one laser source (a high-performance diode laser) has been available since 2003 under the name elexxion claros. In April 2005 the elexxion duros, an Erbium:YAG laser for hard dental tissue work, was presented for the first time at the International Dental Show (IDS). Since the beginning of 2006, it has been possible to cost-effectively upgrade the elexxion claros to elexxion delos by adding a second laser source for hard tissue work. This of course also applies to all elexxion claros systems purchased before this period.

elexxion claros is much more than just another diode laser. It is a true fourth-generation high-performance diode laser. With a pulse output of up to 50 W and a pulse frequency of up to 20 000 Hz, it represents the current state of the art. You can access the required application using the touch panel on the large colour display with its easy-to-use menus. The user does not need an in-depth understanding of power or frequency settings, so there is no need to refer to printed application tables. With its ergonomic hand piece and disposable application fibres, this is the perfect symbiosis of performance, ergonomics and cost-effectiveness – at a price that’s guaranteed to impress.  (Details)

The elexxion duros is a cutting-edge Erbium:YAG laser for effective hard tissue work. Optimum flexibility is provided by the innovative way in which the hand piece is linked to the integrated water/air spray by a fibre optic cable. The elexxion duros also delivers up to 400 mJ of pulse energy at pulse times of less than 200 µs. Pulse times of just 50 µs are also possible; these can be set on the integrated touch panel. All in all, the system makes for effective work on the dental enamel.  (Details)

The elexxion delos is a synthesis of the elexxion claros and elexxion delos. This is the first time the benefits of a diode laser have been combined with the benefits of an Erbium:YAG laser in a single unit: effective work on hard dental tissue and the many different applications of diode lasers.  (Details)
