It was 16 years ago that we first recognised the potential benefits of laser therapy for us and our patients, and we didn’t allow the high investment costs (over DM 100 000) to discourage us. Since then, we have played a central role in the spread of laser technology in German dentistry and have encouraged many colleagues to opt for the technology too.

During this period a great deal has happened and diode lasers have become the instrument of choice for versatile, effective dental applications. The latest generation of diode lasers from elexxion stand out because of their user-friendliness, pre-programmed working values for many procedures, which are easy to operate with the touch screen, and last but not least the combination of hard and soft lasers. This technology has extended the range of treatments we offer in our practice, particularly since soft laser therapy can be performed by trained personnel.All the assistants who completed their training with us before entering professional practice themselves acquired a laser immediately. This just shows that once you’ve become familiar with the benefits of laser therapy, you find you can’t do without it.

And because the cost of a laser unit has fallen considerably in recent years, you can keep your accountant happy too. In private practice, the potential extra earnings are self-evident.
Laser technology is hugely popular with patients and positively viewed throughout the medical profession, including dentistry. The technology is a standard tool in our practice; without our diode laser, we would be deprived of an essential means of therapy.
