Erbium-YAG (2940 nm)
This is the first time that hard-tissue work has been really enjoyable!
With as much as 20 watts of power and 20 Hz of variable pulsing, this Er:YAG is the highest performance fibre-guided laser of its time.
elexxion duros - when the going gets tough.
The elexxion duros is a new Er:YAG laser with as much as 20 watts of application power and 20 Hz of variable pulse rate.
The typical characteristics of this laser system (2940 nm), together with elexxion’s innovations, provide amazing results in hard-tissue work. True to our philosophy, we don’t claim that the Er:YAG can tackle any indications which in fact it can’t.
Er:YAG is for treating hard tissue, not soft tissue.
Its unique design means it does not need any external connections for compressed air or water. But don’t just take our word for it.

Frequently asked questions
What can a modern laser achieve in hard tissue?
Medical benefits
- Low pain levels – patient-friendly
- Minimally invasive therapy
- Good ablation – time required about the same as with a turbine
- Use in implantology – gentle and effective removal of biofilm
- Sterile area of application
What kind of practices require a laser for hard tissue?
Wherever the following treatments are frequently carried out
- Carious defects
- Preparation near dental pulp
- Root tip resection
- Bone ablations
- Implants
- removal of concrements
- Adhesion techniques
If many of your patients are
- Children
- Hypersensitive to pain
- People with an extreme phobia of turbines/needles
- Private patients
- Patients with high expectations
- Patients who are willing to pay additional contributions
What are the financial benefits of this laser for the practice?
Financial benefits
- If you generate just €40/day (over 20 working days), that’s €800 of additional income per month
- Leasing rate less than €800/month
- The time required for conventional cavity preparation often calls for the use of anaesthesia. With laser preparations, this can often be dispensed with
- Excellent opportunity to showcase your practice as innovative and patient-friendly
- Reputation as a practice that uses laser treatment results in positive patient selection
